Timeline

Since we weren't given a form to this, I'm going to jump right in with this timeline. It might not make much sense given this is actually my first timeline (I'm more of a pantser xD) but it's worth a shot!

Also this takes place on this world in the future, so every event up until 2017 that happened in this world happened here.

Timeline

2018 - Members of an unofficial Scottish militia declare themselves independent of Britain after another failed exit attempt in late 2017.

2019 - A small war breaks out between Britain and the "independent" Scotland. The war lasts for three years.

2021 - Scottish radicals began to destroy London. In three weeks, the city is almost completely razed. During this time period, a Scottish general breaks into Buckingham Palace and seizes control, claiming himself as King. (The King is the only name on record for this radical general.)

2022 - The Queen of England is executed, along with any member of the royal family that can be found. The King now has absolute control over the British Isles.

2025 - America, Germany, and Japan begin to provide funding for a joint project to create droids for military use.

2026 - Synthetic cell research picks up in earnest in America; America refuses to share this information with Germany and Japan, nor its motives.

2027 - Scotland donates an extensive amount of money and a team of its most brilliant scientists in exchange for being the first country to receive the droids.

2030 - The first successful prototype, dubbed the modelDroid, it provided the basic design for other models.

2033 - Scotland withdraws from the project with the plans for an army of defenseDroids, or the military droids originally created for the project

2034 - America also withdraws from the project, leaving a smaller team of German and Japanese scientists.

2035 - Other models of Droids, such as policeDroids or driverDroids, are unveiled and put into public service in Germany and Japan.

2037 - Seeing the success of the Droids in reducing crime and helping the cities run smoother in general, other countries begin to incorporate Droids into themselves.

2040 - The King of Scotland dies heirless and the throne falls into the hands of the top aide, Lukas Morley.

2041 - The United States successfully cures several forms of cancer via synthetic cells.

2042 - King Lukas cuts off Scotland from the outside world without warning.

2043 - Threats of war push America, Japan, and Germany to sign an agreement that makes them allies, in case of attack.

2045 - King Lukas sends a batallion of attackDroids to invade France. The attackDroids overpower the French military and within six months France is under Scottish control.

2046 - Germany prepares for attack. Cleverly, King Lukas skips over Germany for the time being and moves South to Spain. Spain was less prepared than France and offers little resistance.

2047 - Spain falls to Scotland. Scotland increases the amount of attackDroids they have and spread out west and northeast to Portugal and back up to France.

2048 - The allied countries make an executive decision and launch an attack directly on Scotland's capital. King Lukas survives; civilian casualities are high. A rebellion rises up against the Scottish government in France. For some time it seems that they are going to succeed, but they fail. Not one of the rebels survive.

2049 - Belgium joins the growing Scottish empire, surrendering without a fight. Germany fortifies its stance. Soldiers and Droids from the allies come to take a stand. Russia joins with the allies.

2050 - No new attacks on any country, leading many to believe the war is over.

2051 - Scotland drops bombs on the East Coast of the United States. Civilian casualities number in the thousands. The President and the marjoity of Congress is killed. The coast is destroyed. the newest President makes no move to attack Scotland and instead surrenders, pulling valuable American resources out of the allies hands.

2052 - Germany finally attacks Scotland in the form of invading France and locating the government buildings. France is freed. At the same time, King Lukas organizes several attacks on Germany as false plans and leaks these to the German government on purpose. The government prepares for thes attacks and leaves other areas open for attack.

2053 - Scotland attacks German from the air. Berlin is severely damaged. The majority of the government survives due to careful planning, the military as well. German and Japanese forces begin to formulate a plan.

2054 - Scotland lapses into silence. No new messages or attacks happen again. Japan, Germany, and Russia begin to attack three way: Japan from the air, Germany from the sea, and Russia from land. They set up a base in Ireland where it would be easiest to attack. In September they begin.

2055 - The attacks cease. Thinking they wiped out the army, the three forces retreat to Ireland to create a treaty. Almost immediately upon arrival, King Lukas (who had survived in an underground stronghold) launches an attack upon Ireland, wiping out the three armies almost entirely.

2056 - The war ends with Scottish victory, Germany, Japan, and Russia being nearly forcd to surrender. They agree to terms and manageto remain their own "free" countries.

2057 - The first year of an uneasy ten year peace between all nations.

2060 - Scottish scientists begin to work back on synthetic cell research. A fully functional heart and set of lungs are created as some of the first projects.

2061 - Organ transplants with the synthetic organs prove a success. The organs are provedn perfectly safe and well functioning and the patients proceed to live a long time with them.

2062 - Updates on the projects cease to be released. Scotland is working on trying to create a fully functional human being now. Progress is slow and all information surrounding this project is classified.

2064 - Last known update on the project for another thirty or so years. Progress ceased entirely.

2067 - Like his predecessor, King Lukas dies without an heir. Fighting over who will take the throne breaks out and the empire drifts apart into a collection of independent states and city-states.

2070 - A fully fledged royal family emerges. The new King, Aurelio Vega, goes by the name of "the King" solely to his people and is hungry for power. Afraid of losing his power to the citizens, he establishes a capital in what once upon a time was London, now called simply the City by the citizens  and almost immediately enacts a new form of law.

2071 - Droids are produced at an alarming rate. PoliceDroids, guardDroids, and other are created to keep an eye on the citizens.

2072 - Cameras are implemented at every street corner. People start to grow suspicious of the King's intentions.

2074 - The King starts to force people to check in to every little aspect of their lives, be it job, lunch, home, etc.

2075 - Scientists produce an integrated computer. It is integrated into the wearer's brain and projects onto their retinas. A few controls are on the back of the ear. It is formally called an Integrated Neural Computer, but due to the controls, it is dubbed an Earpiece, or EP. These are in high demand (and nobody realizes that it is simply a way for the King to spy on the people)

2080 - A series of disappearances of normal citizens. About two hundred disappear.\. The cameras reveal people going alone or in pairs into a disused subway station. Droids sent down there to locate them are unable to.

2082 - Research starts on better Droids.

2084 - Whispers of rebellion start circulating, but are squashed nearly as soon as they form.

2085 - The King dies, passing the throne to his son, whose name is Leon Vega. He also goes solely by "The King" to his citizens.

2087 - Another wave of disappearances. This time less, only around 75 or so, but, again, none of them were found. An econmic rift appears, those with more funds less likely to succumb to the "brainwashing" of some variety that those lower in class. This is simply due to the ease of access to Earpieces.

2089 - The King marries Elaine Edicott to be the Queen.

2090 - Research on Droids and synthetic cells picks up again, with new equipment that makes it easier.

2093 - The elder Prince, Taylor Vega, is born.

2098 - The younger Prince, Paladin Vega, is born.

2099 - A fully functional synthetic brain is created. The research from forty years ago is reopened and built on.

2103 - Ten or so disappearances. Progress on a synthetic human being is swift and promising. The King tightens security to make it harder to disappear.

2105 - The first synthetic human being is created. His name is Luke, after the King who started the research in the first place. Little is known, minus that he develops a personality and fell in love with the Queen. He is scrapped.

2107 - The second human being is created. He is named Aaron and developed a very sumissive personality. Apparently, he is the King's best servant.

2110 - The third synthetic human being is created. Her name is Rena and becomes an excellent teacher for the Princes. Unfortunately, she starts to teach them concepts that might lead to a large change in the way the government works and is scrapped.

2112 - Taylor vanishes without a trace. the King sinks into a depression and drastically tightens security in a desperate attempt to find his son, effectviely taking away any remaining freedom that the citizens may have.

2114 - The fourth and final synthetic human is created. His name was Alex and he was created to be somewhat of a friend to Paladin, since he had lost his brother. Alex developed an adverse personality to Paladin and loathed him, leading to him being deactivated and thrown away. After this final failure, the project was closed for further research.

2115 - The most recent wave of disappearances. This one is the largest one yet, with four hundred people disappearing. This one also yielded thelargest found, with two hundred of them found. Three-quarters of those found were found to hae seditious thoughts and immediately executed. Communication taps were turned on to monitor any conversations.

2116 - The starting point of the story.

Layout of the City:

Concentric circles probably. LArge rectangular block for the royal house, circle for thin apartments. Circle for houses and crumbling buildings. Other buildings. Train tracks. Mark the Underground entrances. :T
